The company quickly outgrew the shed, and moved to more spacious premises where the number of books grew and grew, as did the number of staff. In the early 1990s an office was established in North America, which became the David Brown Book Company. Based in Havertown, PA (in the Philadelphia suburbs), Casemate Academic is predominantly an academic book distributor specializing in archaeology, religion, and literature, producing catalogs and print mailings, as well as displaying titles at a full schedule of conferences throughout the year.
