Simon Ekström (PhD 2002, Stockholm University) is Professor of Ethnology at Stockholm University where he is also a researcher at the Centre for Maritime Studies. In the maritime field he has published a volume in Swedish, Humrarna och evigheten: Kulturhistoriska essäer om konsumtion, begär och död (2017). He is currently researching how objects and stories related to human death are given space in museum collections and exhibitions, with a focus on maritime museums and comparative views of other museums and presentations.
Leos Müller (PhD 1998 Uppsala University) is Professor of History and Director of the Centre for Maritime Studies at Stockholm University. His research interests include Sweden's maritime history, early modern neutrality, and Sweden's place in global history. His publications include Consuls, Corsairs and Commerce: The Swedish Consular Service and Long-Distance Shipping, 1720 - 1815 (2004), Sveriges första globala århundrade: En 1700-tals historia (2018), and Neutrality in World History: Themes in World History (2019).
