Il culto del bello

This catalog of the exhibition hosted from 30th June to 8th October 2022 at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence traces, through a large sample of works, one of the most glorious moments in the history of this prestigious institution founded in 1784 by the will of Grand Duke Pietro Leopold of Habsburg Lorraine. That period was marked by the presence of leading masters including Pietro Benvenuti, director and holder of the chair of Painting, and Stefano Ricci, master of Sculpture much appreciated by Antonio Canova himself.
